You can find Vrs Shetkariagro Producer Company Limited over by the Z.P Urdu School in Risod. We share the space near Shri Kayande Shivshankar Nimbajimr’s place. It’s a busy spot with kids running around during school hours and tractors rumbling past on the main road. We are just local farmers who decided it was time to pool our resources. Being in Risod, we deal with a lot of different soil types, and we try to help each other figure out which fertilizer works best or when to sow the seeds. We don’t have a fancy office, just a room with some chairs and a desk where we keep the registers. Most of our days are spent out in the dirt, checking for pests or worrying about the water levels in the wells. When we meet up, the conversation is always about the price of diesel or the new rules at the market yard. We are plain-speaking people and we don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We are just trying to get a fair price for the hard work we put into the ground. Sometimes the crop fails, and sometimes it’s a bumper year, and we just take it as it comes. It’s a community effort, and anyone from the village can drop in for a chat or to ask for some advice on their crops. We just keep our heads down and keep working until the sun sets.
