Krushibhushan Farmers Producer Company is located in Wai, in the Akot Taluqa of Akola district. We operate out of Prabhakar Wasudeo Karale’s place. This is a local operation that was started by people who have lived and worked in these fields their entire lives. We could see that things were not getting any easier for us small farmers, so we thought starting a producer company might give us a better chance. We don't have any marketing budget or big offices. Our story is just the people you see out in the fields every day. We focus on the crops that grow best in our Akola soil. We meet up at the house in Wai to keep our business organized. It’s a very informal setup. We sit around, drink some tea, and talk about the next harvest or how much new equipment is going to cost. It is real talk about the real problems we face. We don't try to act more important than we are. We are just farmers trying to get by and maybe help our neighbors do the same by working as a group. There is always plenty of hard work to go around here. We handle everything ourselves, from buying the seeds to finding the right buyers for our crops. It’s not always a perfect system, but we are doing it for ourselves and our families.
