Jai Malhari Martand Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is located in Hinganghat, specifically in the Tukdoji Ward. We work out of Pradip Tatewar’s place. We are a collection of farmers from around this area. Life in Hinganghat is mostly about the land and the crops we can produce during the year. We decided to form this company because we were tired of being at the mercy of the big buyers who come through. When we work together, we have a bit more say in the prices we get. It’s not a polished business at all. It’s just a group of neighbors trying to make things work better for everyone. We spend our days in the hot sun and our evenings talking about the business side of the farm. We grow the usual stuff that does well in our local soil. We don't use a lot of fancy words or have a big marketing plan to show people. We just want to sell what we grow for a decent price so we can keep the farms going. The office is just a simple place where we keep our records and meet up to talk. It’s often a bit messy with paperwork and samples of grain, but it gets the job done for us. Everyone knows Pradip, and his place is easy for the locals to find. We are just honest people doing the only work we’ve ever known. It is hard and the hours are long, but that’s the life.
