Kanadgaonkar Agro is based right here in Kanadgaon, and we mostly operate out of Sainath Sudam Ukardew’s place. It’s a small operation, mostly because we are all busy with our own fields for half the day. We started this because the middlemen were taking too much and we figured we could handle the selling part ourselves if we worked as one group. We don't have a big staff or a fancy office setup. It is just a table, some chairs, and a lot of discussion about the weather and the market rates. Sainath keeps everything running and makes sure we stay on track with our paperwork. People around Kanadgaon know us as their neighbors first and a company second. We deal with the stuff we grow right here, so we know exactly what we are putting out there. It’s not always easy, and sometimes we disagree on how to handle things, but that’s just how it goes when you have a lot of different people involved. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just trying to make things a bit better for the farmers in our own village. We keep our operations simple and avoid any of that corporate stuff that doesn't make sense to us. If you come by, you’ll probably find us drinking tea and looking over the latest harvest numbers. It is just a few local guys working hard to make ends meet.
