We are located at Shri Panditrao Ajabrao Deshmukhat’s place in Palaskhed. It’s a local spot and everyone knows it. Jai Siddeshwar Mahila Agro Producer Company Limited is a group of women who just want to get ahead. Farming is tough on your own so we thought we should do it together. We handle everything from the seeds to the final sale. It’s a lot of physical work and the hours are long. We don’t have fancy computers or a big staff. It is just us doing the paperwork on the porch or in the front room. You can hear the goats and the cows while we are trying to talk about business. It is a very real way to live. We don't put on any acts. If the harvest is bad we all feel it. If it’s good we celebrate a little. We spend a lot of time walking between the different plots of land in Palaskhed. The dirt gets everywhere and your clothes are never really clean for long. We aren't looking for awards or anything like that. We just want to make sure the women in this village have a say in how things are sold. It’s a plain and simple business run by people who actually know what a hard day’s work feels like. We stay busy and we stay together because that is the only way to get by.
