Amrutsheti Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is run by women farmers in Dahegaon, over in the Wardha area. We are based at Shri Vasant Narayanrao Rohankar’s place. Wardha has a long history of farming and we are just trying to keep that going in our own way. We are a group of ladies who work the land and decided to set up this company so we can handle our business better. It’s hard to do everything alone, so we come together at the Dahegaon address to plan things out. We don't have a big staff or fancy offices. It's just us, the ones who are out in the sun all day. We use the space at Vasant’s to keep our records and talk about what we’re going to plant. Being a farmer producer company means we can buy things like fertilizer or seeds together, which saves us some trouble. We don't have a marketing person to write this, so it's just the plain truth. We work hard, we look after our families, and we try to get a decent price for what we grow. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know and we are proud of it. Dahegaon is a small place and we are happy to be working here. If you are looking for us, that’s where we’ll be, probably talking about the rain or the next harvest.
