If you head out to Regonda and look for Kothapally, you’ll find us at H. No -5-10/1. That’s Mahendar Auto Services. It’s a small shop, and honestly, there is oil everywhere. My hands are usually stained black by noon most days. We work on all kinds of vehicles that people bring in from the village and the surrounding roads. Some of the engines are so old they barely turn over, but we poke around and see what we can do. It’s a lot of manual labor, leaning over hoods and crawling under chassis on a piece of cardboard. Gori is a quiet enough spot until someone brings in a tractor that’s backfiring. We don't have fancy diagnostic computers or anything like that. We just use our ears and a few wrenches that have been passed down for years. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually take a break then and sit in the shade with a cold drink. It’s not a big corporate garage. It’s just a place where things get fixed so people can get back to work. Sometimes we run out of a specific part and have to wait a few days for it to arrive from the city, which can be frustrating for everyone. But that’s just life in a place like this. We do what we can with what we have and keep the tools clean.
