Chandraiah Tent House

This is Chandraiah’s place in Bodlada. We have been doing this tent work for a long time. People in Nellikudur know us because we are always around when there is a wedding or a small function at home. It is hard work, moving all the poles and the heavy cloth in the sun. My boys are strong and they know how to set things up fast. We keep our chairs and tables in the shed at H. No -2-81. When the season is busy, we barely sleep. Warangal gets very hot, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning before the sun gets too high. We don't have any fancy brochures. People just come to the house and talk to us about what they need. Sometimes it's a small birthday, other times it’s a big village feast. We treat every job the same because everyone knows everyone here. If you mess up one job, the whole village hears about it the next day. So we just do our work and go home. We have some old trucks that make a lot of noise, but they get the stuff where it needs to go. That is just how it is here in the village. We keep things simple and honest. We have been here for years and hope to be here for many more. It's good to be part of the community celebrations and see everyone happy.
