Rsm Rhv English Medium High School is located on Arjun Street in the Mallikarjunapet area of Vijayawada. Being in a city like Vijayawada, it’s a bit more fast-paced around here than in the rural areas. The school is right there in the middle of a very active neighborhood, so there is always some noise from the street coming in through the windows. The building is a few stories high and we have to climb quite a lot of stairs throughout the day. The classrooms are filled with rows of benches that have been around for a long time and show some scratches. We keep the main office near the front so it’s easy for parents to drop in when they are out doing their errands. It can get pretty humid in this part of town, so we keep the fans going all day long. The playground is quite small because of the limited space in the city, but the students still find ways to play during their short breaks. We have a small cupboard for sports gear and some old maps hanging in the hallways. The teachers here are used to the city life and they manage the busy schedule with a lot of patience. It’s a very grounded place where we just focus on the daily routine of teaching and keeping things in order. We don’t have fancy signs or expensive decorations, just a sign outside that tells people they’ve found the right spot on Arjun Street.
