Durga Prasad School

Durga Prasad School is located right on the Lorry Union Office Road in Gandhi Nagar. It’s a bit of an interesting spot because you have all the heavy trucks and the noise from the union office nearby, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Our school isn’t some massive campus with shiny glass walls or anything like that. It’s a practical building that does the job. Most of the rooms are filled with the sound of students reading out loud or the scratching of pencils on paper. We have a small staff of people who have been here for a long time, so everyone knows everyone else’s name. The mornings are usually the busiest time when the dust from the road kicks up as people arrive. We try to keep the place clean, but with the location, it’s a constant battle. The classrooms have high ceilings and heavy doors that we keep open most of the time to let the breeze in. We don't have any fancy technology or anything like that; we just use the blackboards and the textbooks we have. It’s honest work, and the kids seem to like the familiar atmosphere. Sometimes the lorries outside make it hard to hear, so we just talk a bit louder. That’s just how life is here in Gandhi Nagar. By the afternoon, the road clears up a little, and we finish up our records before heading home. It’s a plain, hardworking school for the families who live around here.
