Praveena Beauty Parlour

Our little place is tucked away on Thentu Gowrayya Street in the Labbipet area. It is situated right in the lane opposite the Gateway Hotel here in Vijayawada. I started Praveena Beauty Parlour because I wanted a quiet space where local women could come to get things done without any of that big city fuss. The room is painted a light color, though I noticed the other day that some of the corners could really use a fresh touch-up. We have the standard chairs and some basic equipment for things like threading, waxing, and facials. It gets quite busy on the weekends, especially when there are weddings or festivals happening nearby. Usually, it is just neighbors coming in for a quick eyebrow trim or to get their hair braided for a function. I know most of their names and their families by now. We talk about what is happening in the local market while I work. The street outside is a bit narrow, so parking can be a real puzzle for people sometimes. Inside, it is quiet enough to relax. I keep a few chairs for waiting, though often people just end up standing and talking to each other. It is not a big corporate business with uniforms and scripts. We just do the work as it comes. Sometimes the water pressure acts up or the lights flicker when a storm hits, but we manage just fine. It is just a honest, local parlour for people.
