Winford Community College

We are located at 19/20 on Arcot Road in Vellore. It’s the old employment office building, so a lot of local people already know the spot quite well. Being in Kagithapattarai means we are right in the thick of things every day. Winford Community College isn't a massive campus with stadiums or anything. It’s more of a community space where people come to get some practical skills. The building is shared with other offices, so there is always a lot of coming and going in the hallways. We have some classrooms and some basic equipment for the different courses we offer. It’s a bit crowded sometimes, especially when everyone is changing classes at the same time. Arcot Road is always busy, so there is a constant hum of engines and horns outside the windows. We don't have a big reception area with a fountain or fancy lights. It’s just a plain desk and some chairs where people can wait their turn. We spend a lot of our time helping folks with their registrations and paperwork. It’s a practical place for practical people. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but the current ones have a lot of character. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the students have what they need to succeed. It’s a bit of a maze in this old building, but we’ve made it our home. We like being part of the Vellore community and seeing all the familiar faces every single day.
