Kakm Municipal Higher Secondary School

Our school is right on Arcot Road in Saidapet, which is a very busy part of Vellore. Being a municipal school means we see all sorts of people from the local community. The building at 84 Sripuram has been around for quite a while, and you can see it in the architecture. It’s a large place because we handle higher secondary students, so there are many classrooms to manage. The traffic on Arcot Road is constant, and the sound of horns is just background noise to us now. We have a lot of students, and keeping track of everyone is a full-time task. The teachers walk from room to room with their registers and chalk. We don't have fancy equipment or high-tech labs, but we have enough to teach the basics properly. The courtyards get crowded during the lunch hour, and that’s when the place feels the most alive. We have to deal with the typical challenges of a government-run building, like fixing leaks or making sure the benches are sturdy enough. It’s a very grounded environment. We focus on the exams and the daily lessons. Most of our students come from nearby streets, walking or taking the local bus. It’s a practical place where the goal is just to help these young people finish their education so they can find a path in life. It’s honest work, and we just keep at it every day, even when things get a bit chaotic.
