Satredheart College

Satredheart College is located right by Jolarpet Junction in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The pincode here is 635601. Being so close to the junction means we're always hearing the trains coming and going. It’s a sound you just get used to after a couple of days working here. The college isn't trying to be anything it's not. It's a set of buildings where students from all over the Vellore area come to study. The sun hits the courtyard pretty hard in the middle of the day, so everyone tends to stick to the shade of the corridors. We have a lot of students who commute by train because the station is so close, which makes the mornings very busy at the gate. The place has a bit of an old feel to it, with thick walls and some big trees that have probably been here longer than the college itself. We don't have any fancy mission statements or glossy brochures to hand out. If you walk in, you’ll just see people in classrooms and maybe a few others sitting on the steps talking during their free time. We focus on the daily stuff, like making sure the schedules are posted and the exams are organized. It’s a bit of a grind sometimes, especially when the weather is humid, but that’s just how it goes. The local shops nearby do a good business selling snacks and tea to our students between their classes.
