Marappan Lakshmiammal Arts & Science College

Running Marappan Lakshmiammal Arts & Science College out here in Kurudevi Village is a bit different than being in a big city. We are located in the Vishamangalamist District near Tirupattur. It’s a bit of a drive for some, but the area is quiet, which is good for studying. We have several buildings where the science labs and the arts classrooms are set up. Most of the students come from the surrounding parts of Vellore. We spend a lot of our mornings just getting things ready before the buses arrive. Since we are in a village, things move a bit slower, and we like it that way. There is always something to fix, like a leaky tap or a fan that stopped working in one of the halls. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the teachers, and the office staff trying to keep everything running smoothly. The science labs take up a lot of our attention because they need regular maintenance. On most days, you’ll see students sitting under the trees during their lunch breaks. It’s a very local feel here. We know most of the people around Kurudevi, and many of the staff come from families who have lived in the district for generations. It is just a regular college where we do our best to teach the subjects and keep the campus in decent shape for the students who come here every day.
