We are a producer company, which basically means a bunch of us local farmers joined up to help each other out. It’s hard to do everything alone when you’re dealing with the land and the weather. There’s always some new regulation or a change in the market that we have to talk about together. We aren't some big city corporation with a tall building. We're just people from around Varanasi, 221305, who have been farming for generations. Our meetings usually happen on a porch or in a small room with a fan that clicks. We talk about seeds, water, and who’s got a truck available for the next trip to town. It’s all very practical and down to earth. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Word of mouth works well enough around here. People know who we are and where to find Santosh’s house. Sometimes things are slow, and sometimes we are working until late at night by flashlight. It’s just the way it goes when you’re working with the seasons. We try to do things right and stay honest with each other through it all.
