We are located over at Tajpur Manjha, right by the post office area at Daya Shankar Rai’s place. Most people in the village know where we are because there’s usually a tractor or two parked out front depending on what time of year it is. Jamdagni Kshetra Farmer Producer Company Limited started because a bunch of us who grow crops around here realized we were all facing the same headaches with the weather and the prices at the market. It isn’t some fancy setup with a big sign or anything. We just have a desk, some chairs, and a lot of paperwork that seems to never end. Sometimes the fan makes a loud clicking noise when it’s hot, but we get the work done anyway. Most days are spent talking to neighbors about their harvests or figuring out where we can get better seeds without traveling too far. We handle things for the farmers in this patch of the woods and try to keep things moving. It gets dusty in the summer and the mud is a real pain when the rains start, but that’s just how it is in Tajpur Manjha. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the land and the people around here. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone drinking tea and going over the ledger. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down over the fields.
