You can find us over in Janipur village, which you get to via the Jananpur Road in the Nanpur block. It’s a bit out of the way, but that’s where the farmers are. Our company is called Azad Hind Krishak, and we are a producer group for the local growers. We don't have a big corporate building or anything like that. We mostly work out of a small space in the village where we can meet and talk. Nanpur is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business, so we keep things very open and honest. We don't use any of those fancy marketing words you might hear in the city. We just talk about the weather, the seeds, and how to get a better price for the grain. Sometimes we have meetings under the shade of a tree if the office is too hot. It’s not a polished operation, but we get the job done. The roads to Janipur can be a little rough during the rains, but we are used to it by now. We started this because we wanted a way for the local farmers to have more of a say in how things are sold. It’s a lot of manual work and paperwork that we do ourselves. We don't have a staff of dozens, just a few of us who care about the land here.
