Shivbanki Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Nawabganj in Barabanki. You can find us over at Sandaulibhitauli, right where Ardash is. It’s a local effort through and through. We are just farmers from this part of Uttar Pradesh who wanted to have more say in how our business goes. Instead of just selling to whoever comes by, we work together to get things sorted out properly. Barabanki is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels fast. We spend our time checking on the fields and making sure the crops are doing okay. It’s a lot of manual labor and sometimes the results aren't what we hoped for, but we keep going. The office isn't much to look at, just a place to keep the records and meet up when we need to make a decision. We talk a lot about the soil and what crops will do best in the coming season. Sometimes the talk gets a bit loud when we don't agree, but we always figure it out in the end. It’s a real community thing here. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big marketing talk. We are just here to do the work, look after our members, and see that the harvest is handled right. Every day brings something new to deal with, and we just take it as it comes. It might be simple, but it is exactly what we wanted to build.
