Sant Mandas Baba Farmer Producer Company

We are based in the village of Suhwal, which is part of the Zamania tehsil. Sant Mandas Baba Farmer Producer Company is a name we chose to represent our group of local farmers. Vijendra Rai is one of the people who helps keep things organized here. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits. We are just villagers who spend our days in the sun. Farming is what we do, and it’s all we’ve ever done. We formed this group so we could help each other with things like buying fertilizer or finding a way to sell our grain. It’s hard to do everything alone when you have a small farm. In Suhwal, we grow what we can and hope for the best with the rain. Sometimes we get lucky and sometimes we don't. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just want to keep our farms running and our families fed. Most of our meetings happen on a porch or in a field. It’s very informal. We use simple English because that’s how we talk. We don't need big words to explain that we plant seeds and harvest crops. It’s honest work and it takes up all our time. We’re just a local bunch from Zamania trying to get by. It is not always easy, but we have each other for support. We hope to grow a bit more each year, but slowly. That’s how things work out here in the village.
