Samarth Prerna Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited

Our company, Samarth Prerna Mahila Kisan, is run by the women farmers here in Ahirori. We use Ganga Devi’s place as our main point of contact. We’ve all been working on the farms for as long as we can remember, usually alongside our families. But we decided that we should have our own group to manage things better. It’s a way for us to have a bit more control over our own lives and work. Farming is hard, and when you add all the chores at home, it’s even tougher. By coming together, we can share the work and the knowledge. We talk about which seeds are working and how to get better yields from our small plots of land. We don't have a corporate office. Our meetings happen in kitchens or out in the fields while we work. It’s a very natural way of doing things. We don't use any big marketing words. We just want to be able to sell our produce for a fair price so we can take care of our households. It’s about helping each other out. If one of us is sick, the others step in to help with the harvest. That’s the kind of group we are. We are proud to be women farmers in Ahirori, working the soil and making a life for ourselves. It’s not a fancy business, just a lot of hard work and cooperation between neighbors.
