This is Purvanchal Kisan Kela Producer Company Limited. We are over at H.No. 85 in Girahiya Tola. It’s part of Paragpur, and our post office is Ledi Farm. As the name suggests, we are all about kela, which means bananas. Most of the farmers in this part of Purvanchal grow them. We decided it was better to work together than to try and do everything alone. House Number 85 is where we meet up. It’s a regular village house, nothing flashy. We spend a lot of time talking about the banana trees and how they are doing. Sometimes the wind knocks them down, and that’s a bad day for everyone. We try to help each other out when things like that happen. Ledi Farm is a familiar area for us, and Girahiya Tola is a tight-knit community. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just know bananas. We know when they are ready and how to get them to the market. It’s hard work, especially in the heat, but we’ve been doing it for years. If you come to Paragpur, just look for the house in Girahiya Tola. We’re usually around, either at the house or out in the groves. We just want to keep things moving and make sure our families are taken care of. It’s a simple goal for a local farming group.
