Mintarpur Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are just a bunch of folks from Minterpur village who spend most of our days out in the fields around Richha and Baheri. Things haven't always been easy for us individual farmers, so we thought why not join hands and do things together. That is how Mintarpur Farmers Producer Company Limited got started. We usually gather around Vijay Singh’s place to talk about what crops to grow and how to deal with the fluctuating prices in the local market. It’s hard work, getting up before the sun and staying out until it’s dark, but doing it as a group makes a difference. Most of us have lived here all our lives. We know the soil and we know when the rains are going to be late just by looking at the clouds over Baheri. We don't have fancy offices or anything like that. Our work happens on the ground, dealing with seeds, fertilizers, and the harvest. Sometimes the machines break down or the weather doesn’t go our way, but we just keep going. Having this company means we can talk to buyers as one group instead of everyone going off on their own. It’s a simple setup. We are just trying to make sure the families here in Minterpur get a fair deal for the hard work they put into their land every single season.
