At Mahdhori Davi Javik Farmer Producer Company Limited, we do things a bit differently. We are located at Ashok Narain Tiwari’s place in Mahuari Khas. Our focus is on organic farming, or "javik" as we call it here. We are a small group of farmers who believe that the old ways of farming are still some of the best ways. Our office is just a room in Ashok’s house where we keep the ledger books and some samples of seeds. It’s a very quiet village, and most of us have known each other since we were kids. We don't have a big marketing budget or fancy packaging. We just grow what we can and try to find buyers who appreciate the effort that goes into organic work. It’s not easy because the yields can be lower and the pests are a headache. We spend a lot of time sharing tips on how to manage the soil without using heavy chemicals. Ashok handles most of the visitors who come to ask about our methods. We are just trying to keep our land healthy for the next generation. We don't use big words to explain ourselves. We just show people what we’ve grown. It’s honest work that takes a lot of patience. Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate, but that’s just farming. We stay together and help each other out when things get tough. It's a slow process but we like working with nature.
