We are Mahamana Farmer Producer Company Limited. Our office is over at Awadhesh Kumar’s place in Ward No. 1, specifically in the Purab Mohalla area of Robertsganj. That’s in Sonbhadra, zip code 231216. Sonbhadra is a different kind of place, and we’ve been working this land for as long as we can remember. This company is just a group of us farmers trying to work together instead of everyone doing their own thing separately. It makes things a bit easier when it comes to buying supplies or selling what we grow at the market. We don't have a fancy storefront. It’s just a regular building in the neighborhood where we gather to talk shop and fix problems. Most of the day, we are out in the sun or checking on the irrigation pipes. We don't have a mission statement or any of that corporate stuff. We just want to make sure the harvest is good and we can keep the lights on. It’s a lot of manual labor and sometimes things break down when you need them most, like the old tractor. We fix them and keep going because that’s the only way. You won't find any corporate talk in our meetings, just talk about the rain, the soil, and the prices. It’s a simple life, and this company is just a small part of that daily grind we all share together in Robertsganj. It isn't perfect, but it's ours.
