Lord Buddha Krishi Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out here with Chandra Balitarav in Taranv. We are a bunch of farmers from the local area who decided to get organized. Taranv isn't a huge place, so everyone pretty much knows everyone else’s business anyway. Farming is what we know. We’ve been doing it since we were kids, following our parents into the fields. It’s a tough life sometimes. You worry about the prices of seeds and if the monsoon will come on time this year. We felt like if we pooled our resources, maybe we could get things done a bit better. It’s not about making a huge profit, just about making sure our families are okay. The name of the company comes from the respect we have for our roots here. We meet up when we can to discuss things like what crops are doing well or how to deal with pests. Sometimes we just sit and talk about the old days while we work. The paperwork side of things is a bit of a headache, but we manage. Being a farmer means you have to be patient. You can’t rush the crops, and you can’t rush the seasons. We are just trying to help the folks in Taranv get through the year with a bit more security. It's hard work, but it's the honest work we do every day without complaining much.
