Our workshop is tucked away at Ck 62/35 A 37 in Baluagali. If you wander through the narrow lanes around here, you will eventually hear the sound of hammers hitting metal. That is us, Kashikshetra Metal Craft Producer Company Limited. This area has a long history of making things out of metal, and we are just trying to keep that tradition going. We are a group of artisans who decided to form a company so we could handle the business side of our craft better. Working with metal is loud and hot, and your hands get calloused pretty quickly. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. Our space is full of scraps, tools, and half-finished pieces. Some days the designs come easy, and other days we struggle to get the metal to do what we want. We aren't looking to become a giant corporation. We just want to keep our craft alive and make sure we can support our families. People who buy our stuff usually appreciate the time and effort that goes into every piece. It isn't perfect, as you can see the marks of the tools on the surface, but that is what makes it real. We spend a lot of time talking about techniques and trying to teach the younger guys how to do things the old way. It is a noisy life, but we take pride in seeing a finished vessel or tool sitting on the workbench.
