Global Brij Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of Ravindra Singh’s place in Nabipur, which is near Kosikalan. Being in the Brij area, things have a certain feel to them, and we try to keep that local spirit in how we operate. We are a farmer-led group, which just means we are the ones out in the fields and also the ones trying to manage the business side of things. It’s a lot to juggle. Our office is just a simple room with a few chairs and a lot of registers. We don’t have any marketing brochures or professional setups. Most of our meetings happen over cups of tea while we look out at the fields and discuss the upcoming season. The weather in Kosikalan can be quite harsh, but the land is good if you treat it right. We deal with all sorts of crops that are common in this belt. Sometimes the paperwork feels like a bigger chore than the actual farming, but we know it has to be done to keep the company official. We are just local people working with our neighbors to try and get things organized. There’s no big mystery to it. We just handle the collection and the sales as a group. It’s a lot of trial and error, and we’re still learning some of the business parts, but we’re making progress in our own way without any fancy help or corporate polish.
