Eastern Handicrafts

Eastern Handicrafts is located in Quazipur (South), which is a part of town that stays pretty busy all day. We have a small workshop where we put things together by hand. It’s not the kind of place you see in a magazine. There are scraps of wood and metal on the floor most of the time. We try to sweep up every evening, but by ten the next morning, it’s back to being a bit of a disaster. I’ve lived in Quazipur my whole life, so setting up the business here just made sense. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one that's a bit faded from the sun. The guys who work here are all from the nearby streets. We don't really have office hours in the way big companies do. We get here when the sun is up and stay until the job is done or we get too hungry to keep going. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the truck gets stuck in the narrow lanes around here. We just deal with it as it comes. There’s a tea stall right across from us where we get our snacks. If I’m not at my desk, I’m probably over there talking to the driver about a shipment. It’s a simple way to make a living and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is.
