Bahutaachak Upadhayay Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located over at Samarjeet Bahadur’s place in Bahutachakupadhyay. Brij Kishor Singh is also involved with us here. We are a farmer producer group, which basically means we are a bunch of neighbors who decided to help each other out with the farming business. It’s hard to survive as a small farmer these days. Everything costs more, from the water to the seeds. So, we put our resources together to make things a little more manageable. We aren't businessmen with suits. Most of the time, you’ll see us with dirt on our hands. We grow whatever works best for our soil in this part of the country. Sometimes we have good seasons and sometimes the rain just doesn't show up when it should. We meet up and talk about what we need to do for the next crop. It’s all very informal. We don't have long meetings with agendas. We just talk about what’s happening in the fields. It’s a good way to live, being part of a community like this. We help each other fix equipment and share what we’ve learned about the latest pests. We use the address for the official things, but the real work happens outside. We just want to make sure we can keep our farms going and provide for our kids. It’s a simple goal, but it keeps us busy all year round. We are proud of what we do together in Bahutachakupadhyay.
