Vihangam Madhyamik School

People in Lilapore know where we are located without needing a map. We are right here in the Valsad area, not too far from the coast. The school is a simple structure where we gather every day to get through the curriculum. It’s a mix of different ages and faces coming in from the local streets. We don't have any of those fancy modern gadgets you see in city schools, but we have enough chalk and boards to get the point across. The staff room is usually cluttered with old notebooks and half-finished tea cups. We talk about the weather and how the mango crops are doing while we wait for the next bell. The students are mostly local kids who walk or bike over. There’s a certain rhythm to the place, from the morning prayer to the last class in the afternoon. Sometimes the rain hits the roof so hard we have to raise our voices to be heard, but that is just part of living in this part of Gujarat. We deal with the usual school stuff, like lost pens and forgotten homework, every single day. Nobody here is trying to be anything we aren't. We just run the classes, keep the building standing, and make sure the kids stay out of trouble during the breaks. It’s a plain, honest place to work and learn. We are mostly focused on the day-to-day things, like making sure the boards are clean and the registers are filled in.
