Uttar Buniyadi Ashramshala

Down in Hanmatmal, in the Dharampur area of Valsad, you’ll find our ashramshala. It’s a bit out of the way, which makes it a quiet place for the students. We have been here for a long time. It’s a residential setup, so the kids live here while they go to school. This means we are busy all day and night. The buildings are simple and made for practical use. We have a kitchen where meals are made for everyone every day. It’s a very different feel than a regular city school. Things are more like a big family, for better or worse. We have some land around the buildings where the children spend their time outside when the weather is okay. Life here follows a strict schedule. We wake up early, do the chores, and then start the lessons. It’s hard work for the staff and the kids. We don't have many modern comforts, but we provide what is necessary for living and learning. The road to get here isn't always the best, especially when it rains a lot and things get muddy. We deal with the nature around us every day. People in the district know us as a place that takes in students who need a place to stay. We focus on the basics of education and living together. It’s a humble place, and we just try to keep things moving along steadily. We don't have much, but we make it work for the kids.
