Shree Dharampur Vibhag Khedut Sangathan Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based in Dharampur, specifically in the Hathikhan area. Our company is called Shree Dharampur Vibhag Khedut Sangathan, which is a bit of a mouthful, but it describes who we are pretty well. We are a sangathan, a group of farmers from the Dharampur division. We run things out of Bhusara Pramodbhai Chimanbhai’s place. It’s a local setup, very grassroots. We don't have a big corporate headquarters or anything like that. Most days you’ll find a few of us sitting outside talking about the upcoming season or the latest prices for grain. Dharampur is a beautiful place, but being a farmer here means you have to work twice as hard sometimes. We started this producer company because we wanted to have a bit more control over our own lives. We pool our resources and try to find the best way to sell what we grow. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes it’s a bit disorganized, but we manage. We aren't experts in business, but we know our land and we know our crops. That’s usually enough to get by. We don't use big words or fancy promises. We just try to be honest with each other and work hard. If you’re ever in the Hathikhan part of town, you can probably find us just by asking around for the farmer group. We are just simple people trying to get a fair shake in the market.
