Halar Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of House No 212 in Modpar. We are right across from the Hanuman Mandir in Zankhar. It’s a quiet enough place most of the time, which is nice for getting things done. We aren't a big city company with a glass building. We work out of a house because it’s practical and it’s where we are from. The people involved in this are all locals who have been around farming their whole lives. We know the smell of the earth after it rains and the worry of a dry spell. We put this company together so we could have a bit more say in how our crops are handled. It’s not about being some big shot business; it’s just about survival and helping each other out. You’ll usually find someone at the house drinking tea and looking over the accounts. We don't have any fancy equipment or a big staff. It's just us. We spend our days checking on the fields and making sure the transport is sorted. Sometimes things go wrong, like a tractor breaking down or the prices dropping, but we just deal with it. It’s a simple life in Modpar, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just want to keep the farms going and make sure the next generation has something to work with for years to come. It’s a lot of effort but worth it.
