Satnam Sarvajanik Vidhyalaya in Dhodhadkuva. This is in the Valsad area. It’s a local school, nothing too big or flashy. The address is just number 2 at the post office area. We are right in the middle of the village community here. Most people around here know who we are. The building is a bit old now and has its quirks. The roof is made of tiles and sometimes they shift around when the monkeys run over them at night. We have to get someone to fix them before the rains come. The classrooms are simple and practical. We don't have whiteboards, just the old black ones that we use chalk on. My hands are always white by the end of the day. The kids are good, mostly. They come from the local families. We know their parents and even their older siblings who went here years ago. It’s a quiet life in Dhodhadkuva. We don't have any big computer labs or fancy gyms. The kids just play in the dirt yard during their breaks. We have a few trees that provide some shade for the students during the hot lunch hour. The office has a few old steel cabinets where we keep all the files. We still use paper for almost everything. It’s a lot of writing and filing. Sometimes the wind blows through the open doors and messes up all our papers on the desk. We just put a heavy stone on top to keep them down. That’s how we manage things here in Valsad 396001. It's just a regular village school.
