Down in Atul, which is near Valsad, you’ll find Kalyani School. It’s a quiet area mostly, which is good for a school. We are just a group of people working together to keep this place running for the local kids. The building is functional. We have the usual blackboards and wooden benches. It’s not the kind of place you’d see in a magazine, but it works for us. The trees around the property give some shade when it gets really hot in the afternoons. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Usually, people find out about us just by living in the neighborhood or talking to their neighbors. Our days are filled with the sound of kids talking and teachers giving instructions. We deal with the rain when the monsoon hits Valsad and try to keep the floors dry. There’s always something to do, like checking the registers or organizing the small library we have. It’s just a practical school for practical people. We don't make big promises; we just show up and do the work. The students come from the nearby houses, and we've known some of their families for a long time. It feels familiar and steady. That’s just how we like it here in Atul. We keep things simple because that is what we know how to do.
