Umiya Vidhyalay

You can find Umiya Vidhyalay over at number 1 in Uma Nagar. We are located in the Kendranagar area, just off Dabhoi Road near Soma Talav in Vadodara. It’s a busy part of the city with a lot of people moving around. The school building sits right there in the neighborhood. We have students coming from the surrounding streets and housing societies. It’s a typical school day here, starting with the morning assembly. We have different classrooms for the various grades. The building has some age to it, but we keep it in decent shape. There’s a lot of coming and going near the Soma Talav area, so it’s never really quiet outside. Inside, we try to keep the focus on the books. We have the standard desks and chairs, and the walls have some student work pinned up here and there. Teachers walk to work or come on their bikes. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a massive budget for fancy things, so we just stick to the essentials of teaching. The kids seem happy enough playing in the corridors during the short breaks. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the building quite hard. We’ve been part of this Vadodara community for a while now. It’s just a place for learning, plain and simple. We have our small office where we keep the records and a few cupboards for the books. It's a bit cramped sometimes but it works for us.
