Shree Gangabai Sarvajanik High School

Shree Gangabai Sarvajanik High School sits in the Chhani area of Vadodara. It’s been a fixture in this part of town for years. Most people around here know exactly where we are without needing a map. The school building is a bit older, with long corridors and big windows to let the breeze in. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech equipment, but we have enough desks and chairs for everyone. Life here follows a very regular rhythm. Teachers arrive, the gates open, and the students file in with their heavy bags. We spend most of the day going through the curriculum and making sure the attendance is marked correctly. During recess, the grounds get quite noisy with kids running around, which is to be expected. Chhani is a decent place to work, and we feel connected to the people who live nearby. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It's a public high school where the main aim is just to teach the lessons and get through the school year without too much trouble. Sometimes the roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, but we put a bucket under it and keep going. It’s just a normal, everyday school where people work hard and the kids learn what they need to know.
