The New Era Girls High School

The New Era Girls High School sits right at Bhutadi Zampa in Vadodara. Being in the middle of the city means it is always busy around here. You have the traffic and the noise from the streets, but once you step inside the gates, it feels a bit different. We have been educating girls from this part of Vadodara for a long time. The building is an older one, which gives it some character. We don't have those fancy modern offices you see in the new parts of town. Our rooms are simple with wooden desks and big windows. The girls come from all over the neighborhood. Some walk, some come by rickshaw. We try to keep a good schedule, but sometimes things run a little late if there is a local festival or a big rainstorm. Our staff is mostly made up of women who have been teaching for ages. We talk to the girls like they are our own daughters. We don't go in for big marketing speeches. People know us because their mothers or aunts probably came here too. It is a place with a lot of history. We spend our days grading papers, keeping the registers up to date, and making sure the classrooms are ready. It is a lot of work, but it feels right to be part of the community here at Bhutdi Jhapa. We just keep doing what we do every day without making a fuss.
