Touchwood Furniture

You can find Touchwood Furniture at unit number 8 in the complex on Gidc Vadsar Road. We are directly opposite the Marutidham Housing Society in Asoj. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell of wood and maybe some polish. It's a working space, so there is usually some sawdust on the floor no matter how much we sweep. We have various pieces of furniture sitting around, some finished and some still being worked on. It's not a polished showroom like you see in the big city malls. It's a bit more rugged. We have heavy workbenches and a lot of tools hanging on the walls. Being in the GIDC area means it's mostly industrial, so there are always trucks moving around outside. We moved here because we needed the space for the saws and the wood storage. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains, it gets very loud inside and we have to shout to hear each other. We don't have a marketing team or anything. We just make furniture that people need for their homes. Most of our customers come from the housing society across the road or from nearby parts of Asoj. It's hard work and our hands are usually a bit rough from the wood, but it's what we do. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the pieces are solid.
