Roses Corner

You’ll find Roses Corner right at Nandesari Chokadi. We are near the Manikchand building on National Highway Number 8. It’s a busy place because of the highway traffic. We are in the P.O. Sankarda area. We deal with plants and landscaping stuff. It’s mostly just a large open yard with a small office made of bricks. We have rows of saplings and different kinds of flowers. It gets very dusty because of all the trucks driving past on the NH8. I spend a lot of my time watering the plants and making sure the bugs don’t get to them. We have a couple of guys who help with the digging and loading the trucks. Sometimes people traveling long distances stop here just to stretch their legs and look at the green plants. It’s a nice change from the grey road. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just me and a few workers. We keep the receipts in a plastic box on the desk. The sun can be really brutal out here in the open, so we have a few big neem trees that provide shade. We’ve been here since the highway was much narrower than it is now. We just like growing things and helping people pick out a tree for their backyard. It's a simple business, focused on the soil and the seasons and making sure everything gets enough water to survive the heat.
