You can find us at GF1 in the Shyamwala Complex, right across from the Bhadre Kacheri Road in Panigate. The shop is on the ground floor, which makes it easier to move the heavy carpets in and out. We have rugs of all sizes piled up. Some are rolled and leaning in the corners, while others are spread out so people can see the patterns. It smells like wool and a bit of floor wax in here. The complex is usually busy with people going to the different offices and shops. We don't have a fancy interior. It’s just a large room with good lighting and a lot of floor space. We spend a lot of time flipping through the rugs for customers who are looking for a specific size. It’s heavy work, and our backs usually ache by the time we close up. Panigate is an old part of town, and we’ve been here long enough to know most of the other shopkeepers. We keep a simple logbook for our sales and don't bother with computers much. Sometimes we sit on the carpets themselves when there are no customers around and just have a chat. We aren't interested in being the biggest store, just in having enough variety for the people who walk in. The traffic on Bhadre Kacheri Road can be a bit much, but it brings people our way. It’s just us and the carpets every day.
