New Sarwa Mangal School

If you head down Samasavli Road in Vadodara, you’ll find us at the Krishnashrya building in Vemali. New Sarwa Mangal School has been operating here for some time now. It’s a quiet enough area, which is good for the kids when they are trying to concentrate on their books. We have a modest setup here. The building isn't huge, but we make use of every corner we have. The morning routine is usually the same—teachers arrive first, then the yellow buses or parents on scooters bring the children. We spend a lot of time on the basics, making sure the younger ones learn their alphabets and the older ones handle their science and social studies. Our classrooms have desks that have seen a lot of use, and we keep the walls decorated with student projects. It feels like a small community inside these walls. During the breaks, the sound of kids playing out front is quite loud, but that is just how schools are. We deal with the typical Vadodara heat by keeping the windows open for whatever breeze comes through. The staff here is mostly local folks who have been teaching for years.
