Taj Novelty

Taj Novelty is located at 4 Bhagyoday House, right across from the Krishna Cinema in Vadodara. Being opposite a cinema means there is always something going on. When a big movie is playing, the whole street gets packed with people. Our shop is small and filled to the brim with all kinds of small goods and novelties. You name it, we probably have it tucked away on a shelf somewhere. It can be a bit overwhelming if you’re not used to small shops, but I know where every single item is kept. I’ve been behind this counter for years. It’s a family business that’s seen the city change quite a bit. We don’t have a fancy computer system or anything; I still write out most of the bills by hand. People stop in while they’re waiting for their movie to start or after they’ve finished their shopping elsewhere. It’s a friendly atmosphere, even if it’s a bit cramped. The floor tiles are a bit chipped near the entrance from all the feet walking over them. We don’t try to sell people things they don’t need. They come in for a specific button or a gift, and we help them find it. It’s just a basic shop in a busy part of Vadodara. If you’re ever catching a film at Krishna Cinema, you’ll see us right there across the road.
