Our spot is at 188/13 GIDC in Vaghodia. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but this is where all the polymer work happens. Shivam Polymers isn't a fancy place to look at. It’s a functional industrial shed. Inside, you’ll find bags of raw materials and the machines we use. There is always a faint smell of heated plastic in the air. You stop noticing it after the first ten minutes. My job involves a lot of watching the machines and making sure nothing gets stuck. It’s not always exciting, but it requires you to pay attention. The floor is usually covered in those tiny plastic pellets. They are slippery, so we have to be careful where we walk. The GIDC has a rhythm of its own. You have the shift changes and the lunch whistles. We don't get many visitors who aren't here for business. Most of our interactions are with truck drivers and material suppliers. We have a small corner with a bench where we sit and have tea. The afternoon sun hits the metal walls and makes the place feel like an oven sometimes. We just keep the fans running and stay hydrated. It’s a decent way to earn a living. The work is honest and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Vaghodia has grown a lot since we started. There are more sheds now and more traffic on the main road.
