Started the shop in Wadi, near Western Jai Mills Chawl. Most mornings begin with opening up the shutters and dusting off the display cases. It’s not a huge place, just enough room for the counters and a few chairs for people waiting on repairs. We deal with all sorts of phone issues, from cracked screens to batteries that won't hold a charge anymore. People from the chawl drop by often just to ask a quick question or get a screen guard put on. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait it out. It's a bit loud outside with the traffic but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We keep a stock of chargers and cables in the back because those are always in demand. It’s a simple setup. Not much to look at from the street, but we get the work done. The heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, so the fan is always running. We’ve known most of the neighbors for a long time. It feels like a small community here. You see the same faces every day. We don't spend much on fancy signs or anything like that. Just have the name Shiv Mobile outside so people know it’s us. Sometimes we stay late if there’s a tricky fix to finish. It’s just how it goes when you’re running a small spot in this part of town. We try to stay organized but things get messy when we have a lot of phones to work on.
