The Phone

Our place is called The Phone, and you can find us at G 4 on R C Dutt Road in Alkapuri. It’s a busy part of Vadodara, so there’s always something going on outside. The shop is tucked away in the building, but once you find us, it’s pretty straightforward. We deal with all kinds of mobile issues. Mostly it's broken screens or people forgetting their passwords. I’ve been in this trade for years. I remember when phones didn't even have cameras. Now everything is different. We have a few stools for people to sit on while we look at their devices. The floor is tile and it’s a bit cracked near the entrance. I keep meaning to fix that. We get a mix of people coming in, from office workers to students. Alkapuri is a nice area, but parking can be a real pain sometimes. We try to keep the shelves stocked with cases that people actually want. Not the weird neon ones that nobody buys. It’s a small operation. Just a couple of us making sure everything runs okay. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just this room and our tools. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a break for ten minutes. Then it’s back to work. I've lived in Alkapuri for a long time, so I know a lot of the faces that pass by. The shop sign is a bit crooked because of a storm we had last year, but everyone still knows it's us.
