So, we are over at 4 Chhaui Octorainaka. The shop is called Shapes & Colours. It’s a bit of a different name but it fits because we have a lot of different items that are, well, colorful. I spend my time mostly sorting through things and making sure the display in the front window looks halfway decent for the people passing by. It’s not a huge place, just a simple storefront where I spend most of my day. The area around Octorainaka can get a bit loud with the traffic and the horns, but you get used to it after a week or so. I usually bring my lunch from home and eat it in the small back room between customers. It’s just me here most of the time, so I have to do everything myself. I handle the money, I clean the floor, and I talk to the suppliers when they come by with their vans to drop off more boxes. I try to keep a variety of things in stock so that people have a reason to stop by instead of going elsewhere. Sometimes I get bored when nobody comes in for an hour, so I just rearrange the shelves again to keep busy. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes and standing on my feet, but it’s a living. I don't have any fancy signs or big flashing lights. Just the name on the door and a lot of different things inside for people to look at.
