Shankar Plastic

Shankar Plastic is located right in the middle of the GIDC Industrial Estate. Our address is Plot No 305 on Cinema Road, near the Delhi Gate in POR Ramangamdi. It’s a very busy area with a lot of heavy vehicles moving in and out. Because we are in an industrial zone, there is always a layer of dust on the windows and the desks. We deal mostly with plastic items that factories and other businesses need. It’s not a small shop where you come to buy a single toy. We move things in bulk. The warehouse is big and it can get quite drafty in the winter. During the day, the sound of the machines and the loading of trucks is constant. I spend a lot of time checking the inventory against the delivery notes. It’s easy to lose track of things if you aren't careful. The guys who work here have been with me for a long time. We know each other's families and stories. We usually eat our tiffin together in the small office area. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s a place of work. The road outside is usually torn up or being fixed, which makes deliveries a bit of a headache. But we manage to get things done. It’s just the daily routine for us here in Ramangamdi. We’ve been at it for years and we’ll be here tomorrow as long as there is work to do.
