Mandvi 3 is where you can find us if you are looking for hardware. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with boxes of screws, hinges, and all kinds of tools. It’s a bit of a maze inside and if you don’t know where things are, you might get lost among the buckets of paint and the rolls of wire. I try to keep everything organized but when we get a big shipment in, the aisles get even narrower. I spend a lot of time counting out washers or weighing nails for customers who just need a handful of things for a quick fix at home. The smell of oil and new metal is always in the air here. I’ve lived in this area a long time and I know most of the contractors who stop by in their trucks every morning. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a practical place for people who need to build or fix things. Sometimes a customer comes in with a broken part and asks if I have something that matches it, and we spend twenty minutes digging through old drawers to find the right size. My ledger is usually sitting on the counter with a pen tied to it so I don't lose it. It is a busy life but I like the routine of opening the shutters and seeing who comes in first.
